Marked in red the way "The path of the Franchi"

The path saw the movement of various army's, between them it is right to remember the most famous and the most glorious, that one of Carl Magno, came down to Susa Valley from Valico of the Moncenisio and with his army crossed in good part of this tracking for the battle of the Chiuse in 773.
It was therefore important via of communication to Sacred Roman Empire period, been born under the rule of the king transalpine.
Also to religious this path was not unknowed: In fact it connected five valsusino abbeys (Sacred of Saint Michele, Mount Benedict, Certosa of Banda, Madonna of the Losa, Abbadia of Oulx). Many are the paths that from Susa Valley come down towards the Pianura Padana and all have been a crossed in the antiquity. Being to know from the studies up to now, this across path is the more faithful to the path of the Franchi.
The Sacred of Saint Michele.
Actual Distance:
It is advised to cross the path from Oulx towards the Sacred of Saint Michele. The path crosses in part of the Natural protect parks of the Great Forest of Salbertrand and Orsiera/Rocciavrè, in which exists some staging points.
During distance: 3 days, with intermediate stages to the Frais, to Pian Cervetto and the Gravio Shelter. Can be reserved in the receptive structures along the crosses, or in tent.
Identifying:
The tracing of the path is marked with varnish red, white and pink signs, with numerous bi-directional plates and metallic labels.
Equipment:
Normal equipment used for trekking and hiking in mountain. It's possible to find water thanks to the many present Fountains on the way.
